Steel Wire Ring: SHELL by REPIOR®

SHELL is a steel wire ring with a spider motif, made by hand in our studio in England. The spider sits on top of the band, legs spread, as if it had just landed on your hand. Steel gives the ring strength and resistance to tarnish, and it comes in black or red.

It has the charm of a curiosity cabinet: a little dark, a little playful, and impossible not to look at twice.

Not everyone will like it. That is rather the point.

Armour With Eight Legs

SHELL is protective and exposed at once, a firm edge around something soft. Spiders have long stood for patience, craft and protection: the weaver who builds a home from a single thread. On the hand, the spider becomes a small guardian with a sense of humour.

Each SHELL is formed and finished by hand, the spider’s legs shaped and checked so they sit close and do not snag. Because every piece is worked individually, each spider has its own slight posture.

How to Wear It

Slide SHELL onto the finger with the spider facing up. Wear it alone for maximum effect, or with dark bands for a gothic stack. Take it off before heavy work, and be mindful of the legs around fine fabrics.
