Some pieces are designed. Others are asked into existence.
The REPIOR NERVE — the Cervical-Apex-Pelvic Tri-Axis piece in stainless steel — began as a commission. A client wrote to ask whether Pilar could make something that connected three specific anatomical points simultaneously: the cervical, the apex, and the pelvic axis, through a single continuous wire structure.
The challenge
Connecting three anatomical points through a continuous non-piercing form requires each connection to work independently — each must hold its own position through tension — while the form as a whole must remain coherent during movement. The solution was a tri-axis approach: three distinct tension systems joined by a central structural spine in stainless steel. The piece required several iterations before the geometry was right.
What happened next
The client was happy. Pilar kept the design — because the NERVE addressed a problem that had not been solved in the existing collection: how to create a coherent structural relationship across the full vertical axis of the body through non-piercing tension alone. It is now one of the most consistently requested pieces in the studio, available in stainless steel.
What bespoke means at REPIOR
A bespoke commission begins with an email to info@repior.com. You describe what you want. Pilar considers whether it is technically feasible and responds honestly. If the project proceeds, the piece is made to your exact measurements — typically adding four to five days to standard production time, and twenty to thirty percent to the price. Some commissions become part of the permanent collection. Most do not.
