August / Peridot

The peridot symbolizes strength. It is sometimes called the evening emerald for its light green color. It was once believed that the green peridot crystals found in volcanic ashes were the tears of the volcano goddess, Pele. Tradition says you will be able to successfully ward off evil, enchantments and depression if you wear or carry peridot.

Healing and Uses: The peridot is thought to banish lethargy, apathy and exhaustion. It strengthens the immune system, metabolism and benefits the skin. It aids disorders of the heart, thymus, lungs, gallbladder, spleen and intestinal tract, and treats ulcers.
